What Tree Work Costs - and What Drives the Price

We don't publish prices, because no two trees are the same. Instead, here's an honest look at what actually drives the cost of tree work - so you know what you're paying for and why. Estimates are always free.

Every tree is a different job. The fir leaning over your bedroom is nothing like the cedar at the back of a wide lot, and a stump in the middle of a lawn is different from a stump wedged behind a fence. That's why a flat price list doesn't work for tree work - and why we'd rather come look at yours and give you a real number.

Here are the things that change the price, in plain language. None of it is hidden, and you'll hear every one of these when Corey walks your property and gives you the estimate.

Height and trunk size

A tall Douglas fir with a thick trunk is simply more tree to bring down, cut up, and haul away than a smaller one. The bigger the tree, the more time, rope, and chipper work it takes.

Lean and what it could hit

A tree leaning toward the house - or one that could reach the roof, a fence, or a power line if it fell - has to come down under control. Planning around what's underneath takes more care and more rigging than a tree in the open.

Access - can equipment reach it, or does it need climbing?

If a machine can get to the tree, the work moves faster. On tight lots where a big rig won't fit, we climb it and lower each piece on rope. That piece-by-piece work is more labor, but it's the safe way to handle a tree wedged between two houses.

Number of trees or stumps

One tree costs less than five. A single stump is quicker than a whole row from an old hedge. More units means more cutting, more chipping, and more hauling.

How much debris

A bigleaf maple in full leaf makes a lot more brush than a bare alder in winter. The volume of branches, logs, and chips we haul off your property is part of the job - on every job we haul away the branches and wood.

Emergency and night work

A tree on your roof at 2 AM is priced for the work it actually takes to get out there and get it off safely. You get a straight number before we start - no surprise add-ons after the fact.
