Storm Damage Cleanup in Port Orchard, WA
After a Pacific Northwest windstorm leaves branches and whole trees across your yard, driveway, and roof, we clean it up and haul it all away. Storm damage cleanup across Port Orchard, Bremerton, and the Kitsap Peninsula.
Windstorms hit the Kitsap Peninsula hard - we clean up what they leave
Pacific Northwest winter storms are their own kind of event. The ground gets saturated, the wind comes off the Sound, and shallow-rooted Douglas firs that stood fine for decades suddenly tip over with the whole root plate coming up. Tops snap out of western red cedars, bigleaf maple limbs split and hang, and red alder - a soft, fast-growing tree - breaks apart in pieces. When it's over, your yard, driveway, and sometimes your roof are buried in wood.
Grizzly Tree Service cleans it up. We're owner-operated and based in Port Orchard, so we know what these storms do to trees on the Kitsap Peninsula. Corey is on every job, and on the bigger cleanups he brings in additional help when the job calls for it. Everything gets hauled away.
When you need storm damage cleanup
- A fir or cedar tipped over in the yard, root plate and all.
- A snapped top still hanging or already on the ground.
- Hanging, broken limbs caught up in the canopy that could still drop.
- A split trunk on a maple or alder that's half-down and half-standing.
- Branches and brush piled across the lawn, driveway, or walkway.
If any of it is on a structure or blocking your access, treat it as an emergency and call right away. If the storm has passed and it's down in the yard, we'll schedule the cleanup.
How we do it
We start with the dangerous pieces - the hanging limbs and the half-fallen trees that could still move. Those come down first, under control. Then we cut up the trunks and big limbs, chip the brush, and load the wood. We clear the driveway and walkways so you can get around, and we haul everything off the property. You're not left with a brush pile to figure out later.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as storm damage versus an emergency?
If a tree is on your house, your car, or blocking your only way in and out, that's an emergency - call right away. If the storm has passed, the tree is down in the yard, and there's no ongoing danger, that's cleanup. Either way we haul away the debris.
My fir tipped over with the roots still attached - can you handle that?
Yes. Shallow-rooted Douglas firs tip over when the soil is saturated, and the whole root plate comes up. We cut the trunk into sections, load the wood, chip the brush, and haul away the mess - including dealing with the root ball and the hole it leaves.
There's a broken limb still hanging up in the tree. Is that dangerous?
It can be. A hanging or 'widow-maker' limb can drop without warning, sometimes hours or days later. We get it down safely before it comes down on its own. Don't stand or park underneath it in the meantime.
Do you clean up just the branches, or the whole tree?
Whatever the storm left behind - a snapped top, a split trunk, a fully tipped tree, or a yard full of branches. We clear it, cut it up, and haul away the wood and the brush.
How fast can you get out after a storm?
Port Orchard and Bremerton - typically within 30 minutes. Silverdale, Gig Harbor, Belfair and the rest of our service area - typically about an hour. After a big storm we work through the list in order of danger first.
Do you help with the cleanup if I already cut some of it myself?
Yes. If you've started on it and the pile is more than you can handle, we'll load and haul off the branches, logs, and yard waste. Our debris haul-off service covers exactly that.
